GREAT NEWS!!!! KCC to start work on Leeds-Langley
feasibility on B2163 Leeds & Langley Relief Road.
A Relief Road has an estimated cost of at least £55m at
today's prices, and this would be more like £75m in cash terms, allowing for
inflation.
Kent County Council is under severe financial pressure but
has found £200,000 to conduct the road monitoring exercise for the
Leeds-Langley relief road feasibility.
Any future funding Business Case for the road will need to
consider the strategic, economic, financial, commercial and management case for
a scheme. It will need to consider all options including doing nothing and
other transport alternatives, and to consider sustainability issues and the
human rights aspects of those who would be affected by a proposed scheme.

Letter from Leeds PC to Leaders of KCC and MBC
=====================================================
Willington Street supports Leeds PC in road petition
Dear Ms. Mcwethy,
(Reporter with Kent Messenger) Friday November 6th 2015.
John Govett, Chair of Leeds Parish Council, spoke openly and frankly in the interview
he gave last week. For decades, the residents of south and south east Maidstone
have suffered with the lack of highway investment for our county town. As Mr. Govett
rightly states, a bypass has been promised for years and years.
WillAct, Maidstone residents and indeed others who travel to and from other towns
and cities, including haulage contractors, all recognise this new road is long overdue.
MBC and KCC must work together to investigate all avenues and obtain funding.
We endorse and support Leeds Parish Council and will work with them to make this
new road a reality. We ask all residents to please sign this Petition. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
J. Sutton
